Foundations

PZ&W can provide practical foundation design solutions for all ground conditions. Working from our own, or a Client supplied geotechnical report, we will produce the optimum foundation design to suit the particular structure or building and its environment.

In the design process we consider not only the loading on the foundations but also the practical aspects of construction such as access to site and local availability of materials to ensure that the design is deliverable. Designs can be provided either in outline or in full detail including bar schedules. Raft, pad and chimney or piled foundations may be utilised following a detailed analysis of both the physical, geological and the commercial constraints of the development.

Where an existing foundation is to be re-used, PZ&W can conduct an assessment of its suitability referring to the original design where this is available or by detailed inspection and measurement on site including excavations to identify existing depths of blocks.

We can provide on-site engineering support, throughout the setting out, excavation and construction of the foundations should this be required.
