MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

Aim

This statement sets out steps PZ&W has taken, and is continuing to take, to understand and minimise the potential risk of modern slavery in its business and supply chains.

While PZ&W is below the turnover threshold, the Company recognises and welcomes the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the duty it places on large organisations to disclose publicly the steps they are taking to prevent modern slavery within the business and their supply chains.

General Statement of Policy

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business.

PZ&W has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to improve its practices by acting ethically and with integrity to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking does not exist anywhere within the organisation or is in anyway associated with the business.

We will not enter into business with any organisation, in the United Kingdom or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

In addition to this Policy Statement, PZ&W maintains the following policies which support its principles and are accessible to all staff (and subcontractors where required):

An Ethics policy
Equal opportunities policy

Organisation And  Responsibility

The person with overall responsibility for this policy is the Managing Director who is responsible for continual development of policies and for all human resource issues.

About PZ&W

PZ&W Ltd is an established Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy providing practical and professional services principally to the communications industry covering antenna support structures and their associated infrastructure. By focussing on a specific market sector over many years we offer clients a comprehensive range of services and depth of experience.

Our primary services are:

  • Project Management
  • Structural Design and Analysis
  • Forensic Engineering
  • Facility Management Support
  • Training

Services are delivered by in-house staff, supplemented as necessary by our approved subcontractors.

PZ&W generally delivers its Services in the United Kingdom or on behalf of other UK registered companies operating overseas.

Level Of Risk

PZ&W considers its position within professional services as low risk in relation to modern slavery.
The nature of the work undertaken requires staff to demonstrate that they are highly qualified and experienced in technical matters. Where work is subcontracted, this generally requires workers to provide recent, valid certification from recognised industry training bodies.

These are not areas which lend themselves to vulnerable, forced or trafficked workers.

Training

As a Small Business in a low risk environment PZ&W restricts training on Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking to distribution of this policy and one-to-one briefings from a Director to staff and external contractors at commencement of employment and in annual reviews.

This approach will be subject to the annual review of this policy to ensure it remains adequate.

Supply Chains

Where additional human resource is required to deliver our Services, a limited supply chain will be established.

The specialist nature of our work means that there is a limited potential supplier base of UK companies and contractors. These are carefully selected in accordance with our requirement criteria and come primarily from personal recommendations and are not sourced from Gangmasters or similar organisations.

Due to the scale of our operations we do not require our subcontractors to have their own Modern Slavery Policies however we will not engage any supplier in the United Kingdom or abroad which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.

Moving Forward

PZ&W is committed to ensure modern slavery does not exist within its organisation by improving its current practices, adapting existing procedures, creating new policy and continuing to educate its employees.

Approval

This policy statement has been approved by a Director of PZ&W and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement. This statement will be reviewed and updated annually.
